Yulia Putintseva captured the third Hologic WTA Tour singles title of her career in Birmingham with a win over Ajla Tomljanovic in the final of the Rothesay Classic.
Putintseva’s two previous titles came on clay courts, in Nurnberg in 2019 and Budapest in 2021, and she had been the runner-up in three hard court finals.
But she took home the winner’s trophy in her first career grass-court final, having gotten past Clara Burel, Anhelina Kalinina, Caroline Dolehide, Elisabetta Cocciaretto en route.
