Andy Murray masterclass | Murray’s best shots to win 2013 & 2016 Wimbledon titles!

As the news breaks that Andy Murray will retire from tennis after the Paris 2024 Olympics, we look back on his best ever Wimbledon winners from the years that he claimed the title.

Enjoy Murray at his history-making best in 2013 as he overcame Germany’s Benjamin Becker, Lu Yen-hsun of Chinese Taipei, Spain’s No.32 seed Tommy Robredo and Mikhail Youzhny with style. He had an impressive comeback victory against Spanish left-hander Fernando Verdasco in the quarter-finals before defeating Jerzy Janowicz of Poland in the semi-finals. He then faced Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and held his serve in a pressured final game with some more sensational tennis to become the first British man to win the Gentlemen’s singles at Wimbledon in 77 years, since Fred Perry in 1936.

Three years later, Murray repeated the achievement, after beating fellow Brit Liam Broady, Lu Yen-hsun of Chinese Taipei, Australians John Millman and Nick Kyrgios, France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Czech No.10 seed Tomas Berdych and Canada’s Milos Raonic in the final.
